Hi and welcome! I am a girl who loves God and wants to share her life as an Apostolic (aka Pentecostal) Christian!

~Why I decided to make this blog:

When I first starting going to my Apostolic church, I would spent hours, (literally!), googling about this denomination. I was yearning for more information because I knew and felt in my heart that this was something special. I was quickly shocked at the google results I got! The majority of the websites were defaming Pentecostalism and calling it a cult. What some sites were saying were just horrible and untrue. It broke my heart to read those things and it always sat in the back of my mind. Now that I am more secure in my beliefs and strongly rooted in God, I knew I had to try to make a difference for other questioning souls searching for truth. I was surfing the internet one night when it suddenly hit me: start a blog with your prayer journal! Not only will you get to express your deepest thoughts to God, but maybe it will be a visible testimony to anyone else searching the web someday looking for the real story behind this interesting and, from an outsider’s perspective, crazy religion. Thus, PassionatePentecostal was made. ❤

~What I believe:

  • I am a “Oneness Pentecostal” in that I believe there is only ONE God who is the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. I am NOT Trinitarian. (I know this to be true for many reasons, and if you want more detail ask in a comment and I will make an entire blog post out of it. Maybe I will make one in the future anyway on each one of these topics.)
  • The Bible is the word of God and there is no salvation outside of its pages.
  • To be saved you must repent of your sins, be baptized in water in the name of Jesus Christ, and receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost evidenced through speaking in tongues. (Acts 2:38)
  • Yes, I am a “jean skirt girl!” I practice holiness standards. (Deuteronomy 22:5) (I only wear skirts when in public or around males, I do not wear makeup, jewelry, or immodest clothing. I do not drink, smoke, or otherwise harm my body. I do not go to dances, wear colorful nail polishes, go to the movies, or speak foul language. Trust me, even though it sounds like a lot of “rules” (even though these are not needed for salvation and is based on personal conviction), I love upholding holiness!)
  • I believe in laying on of hands for divine healing. (James 5:14-16)
  • I believe that Jesus will return at any day in the resurrection to take His church. I want to be ready for that!

~Brief info about me:

I have an amazing Pastor and church family.

One of my favorite Psalms is Psalm 84.

I converted to Pentecostalism after my freshman year of college and I am now a senior.

When I am home from school I help teach my church’s Sunday School for ages 4 years old to 4th grade, and I love them so much!

My favorite color is pink and I am addicted to reading!

~Please leave comments or questions and I will try to get back to you!

Have a blessed day! ❤

  6. Thank you for your reading materials! It is refreshing to see that I am not the only Pentecostal Holiness guy out there! I was glad to see that you have more than just the “doctrines” of the UPHC in your “head”, but you have the “Head” of the UPCH living in your HEART. Keep that!

  7. Amen! God Bless you young lady. I am apart of a Apostolic-Pentecostal church in VA and it is awesome. The 1st Century church is still present, alive and well, in the 21st Century. Why? because we are living the doctrine of the apostles, as they received it from Jesus himself.

  8. How do boys who are Pentecostals act, dress, etc? I am considering attending an Apostolic Pentecostal church and am curious about this.

  9. Hi, I just found your site! I am glad to see someone who believes as I do.
I see you have not posted on your blog since 2013. Is all well?
    Please reply back.

  10. Hi! I’m pentecostal and I was wondering what is the difference in Oneness and Trinitarian. I think I’m Trinitarian but I’m not sure lol.

    • Oneness believe that there is One God manifested in three ways it’s called modalism. In other words in the Old Testament God was manifested as the Father. In the New Testament God was manifested as Jesus Christ the Son and when Jesus ascended to heaven God manifested Himself as the Holy Ghost and He is in this manifestation today in the earth realm.

Trinitarians believe that there is One God in three beings that are co-equal and separated but make up the Godhead. In other words Father , Son and Holy. Ghost three separate beings that make up One God.

  11. My name is Norma Jean Mueller and i have been reading your blog these past few days I live in California and i go to an apostolic pentecostal church in Ontario, Ca. I have been going for a year. I am so sorry to bother you and i know that you dont know me or anything i just needed some advice. ever since i have been going to church i have been on fire for God and i love my church and i still do. I still attend but i feel like outside of church I dont live for God like i should. Such as outside of church i watch a lot of tv and play games. i really really need some guidance on what i can do instead. what advice can you give me on what to do through today. i really want to live for god! i just dont know what i should be doing outside of church. Thank you for your time. i look forward to hearing back from you if you get the chance.

    • Get on line or get the ap. Holy Ghost radio. Sooo awesome. Get some books of Nona freeman. Find some one in your church you can talk too. Whatever you do don’t isolate yourself

  12. Hi, I love your blog. I was raised Apostolic and followed all the standards that I was taught for a long time. Some made sense and some didnt. I married a man that was raised the same way but didn’t have the Holy Ghost and we began to have many problems. It wasn’t long before I began to question the life I was living, doubting that it was right bc why would God allow my life to be this bad and I quit church and stopped all of what I was taught. Things never got better they actually got worse. I left my husband, divorced, got pregnant with another man’s baby and then suddenly I began to realize that not only what I was taught was true but resized it was never God allowing my life to be messed up it was us. My ex got in church and began to straighten his life up and he encouraged me to visit. It took one service for me to get a renewing of the Holy Ghost and I felt great. Things vegan to fall in place. We are now remarried and have 4 beautiful children. 3 are his blood the other he accepted as his own and has never treated him any different. However, the church we attend I have started having some major doubts about what they believe. I believe like you on most things and I do believe that most comes from conviction but if it’s in the Bible and they are not following it is it not wrong? For example: we are supposed to wear dresses and skirts in public or in front of men ok so this should apply to the gym as well correct?? I have a church member that started going to the gym and her clothing was entirely unmolested in every way. I asked her did she not feel bad and she said that our pastors wife dresses the same way when she is at the gym. (I have a hard time believing that the pastors wife would wear skin tight workout pants and a tank) but would this not be a double standard?? Anyways I don’t know if I am feeling all this doubt about the church because of how I was raised or what but your blog has definitely help me understand our beliefs a lot better then I ever have before. Part of me is saying I need to be at a different church and then I think no because you have to be convicted. Idk mind is going everywhere. Saying all that I need to ask this. How do I follow your blog.. I came across it by looking for stuff on our religion on Google so I’m not sure how to follow a blog. Thanks for your explanations and inspiring words. God Bless you in your journey with him.

    • Hi, I am so glad you found your way back and your marriage is doing great. I am an Apostolic Pastors wife and I go to the gym four to five times a week. My dress does not change in the gym or not, I wear a modest shirt, leggings under my skirt, and yes I get lots of look. I am proud of the revelation God gave me on clothing Deuteronomy 22:5.

  13. Praise the Lord! I am a Pastor of a UPCI church in Grayson, Ga. I Love your Blog and your Bold stand for Truth! I know this Blog will be a Spiritual Blessing to those who read it with a open heart! God Bless You Sister!

    • Praise the Lord! No, 1 Corinthians 11 states that woman are to not cut their hair, because it is their glory and covering. So, when you lose your hair to cancer, it is not your doing.

  14. I just got baptized with the Holy sprit after getting baptized in the name of jesus on dec 14 2016 instantly had no craveing to smopke im an x drug addict no craveing any more jesus christ has changed me from the inside out i have expierenced john 3-5 im reborn praise jesus and i ghrew up baptist by the way but i know the truth now and praise jesus for your testimony rev 12-11 and i cant cvhange the name of my email sorry lolz i dont like vampires no more im about the lamb all about my jesus and ONLY JESUS THE ONE TRUE GOD NOT THREE PRAISE HIM FOREVER AND EVER

  15. Hi Passionate Pentecostal, are you still active on your site?
If so would you please email me when you get a chance?

  16. So about the no cutting hair thing. What happens if you get cancer and have to have radiation. Then I guess you’re just fucked and God won’t accept you. Your hair thing is the most ridiculous shit I’ve ever heard. Get real.

  17. Your hair is NOT ridiculous. I am an apostolic girl and it actually says in the bible in 1st Corinthians 11:6, so if you don’t believe me, look it up. You shouldn’t cuss also, you’re making God very sad. I’m not trying to be mean, but it’s the truth. And also if a woman gets radiation from cancer and she lives the rest of her life for God, God sees all and he would see if a woman lived her life for God.
I’m praying for you and God bless

  18. I can totally relate to what you said about searching for other Christian sites and seeing ignorant comments about Pentecostals allegedly being part of a cult. We are the ones teaching straight from the Bible; the same doctrine taught by the apostles!

    • I disagree with you all your teaching ‘traditions of men’ instead of the word God. There are so many denominations and you claim to follow the Apostles that baloney… You all aren’t even the real Apostlics… There are so many Christian woman that wear there hair short and are filled with the Holy Spirit and aren’t in danger of the hellfire… What say you to those sisters in Christ? If a Christian woman goes bald will God send her to hell for not having long hair?

      • Micah, I’m sorry you have this false view of Apostolic Pentecostals. I Corinthians 11 prohibits women to cut their hair, but if they lose hair due to chemo, they’re not going to be judged for it. It’s the INTENTION of getting rid of their hair that’s sinful. And if they lose hair due to age, it DEFINITELY isn’t sinful. They didn’t choose that. Look, I’m not making judgments on who’s going to Heaven and who isn’t. I’m just telling you what the Bible says. If you’re interested in what Apostolics teach, I’ll refer you to my website: http://godfervor.com

      • I am sorry that you’re misinterpreting the scripture. The Bible no where prohibits tasteful cutting, curling, styling or setting of a woman’s hair. Any length is appropriate if the hair is long enough to be a covering and feminine. Any style is proper as long as it is modest and looks feminine.

      • Please let me know if you get this.  Are you still posting anything on your blog?

Sincerely, Mickey Author of the controversial http://godfervor.com

  19. The Bible says that the tradition of men makes God’s word of no effect. You mentioned that you follow the Apostles well that isn’t true because the Apostles baptized in the name of Father ,Son and Holy Ghost which the Apostlic church rejects. The Apostles followed Jesus Christ… Matt 28:19 …. You can’t have both ways you either believe in Jesus Christ and what he says or you don’t.

  20. http://godfervor.com/one is my rebuttal to your claim that the apostles baptized using the titles Father, Son and Holy Ghost. As for hair, I Corinthians 11:6 says it is a shame for women to cut their hair. It makes no specification on how MUCH hair is cut. It just condemns cutting it at all.

  21. Hi, My name is Nica from UPCI Philippines. I read your topics about holiness and help me a lot on how to embrace what we believed in. Hoping that there will be more Apostolic believers that can read your blog here in the Philippines especially young people and this will surely encourage everyone to stand on our faith in this last days.

Thank you and May God blesses you always! 🙂
